On June 22nd, the GW-OLS continuous light hydrocarbon logging instrument independently developed by the Logging Company of Great Wall Drilling was successfully applied in more than 60 Wells. This marks that China National Petroleum Corporation has mastered a key technology for real-time detection of formation fluids while drilling, breaking the technological monopoly of foreign companies and enhancing its competitiveness in participating in the international high-end logging market.
Technicians spent five years comprehensively researching and improving the gas collection and analysis unit, innovating multiple technologies such as constant temperature quantitative degassing of drilling fluid, and achieving the world's first 60-second periodic online detection of 15 components including C1-C8 alkanes, cycloalkanes, and aromatic hydrocarbons. They adopted digital analysis technology for light hydrocarbon spectra and established a series of interpretation methods such as component characteristics and morphological factors. The GW-OLS continuous light hydrocarbon logging instrument has been successfully developed.
The GGW -OLS continuous light hydrocarbon logging instrument features high quantification degree and high degassing efficiency. It can meet the requirements of logging operations on land and at sea, increase the compliance rate of exploration well interpretation and evaluation from 75% to over 85%, avoid a large number of ineffective oil tests, save about 5 million yuan in investment, and the overall indicators reach the international advanced level. Among them, the chromatographic rapid detection technology has reached the international leading level. (Sun Haigang, Guan Song, correspondents of China Petroleum News
